Comments:
1.      Tuesday is a special SPIRIT day called Scrip Casual day.  If you have participated in the Scrip gift card program, and have purchased scrip during the summer, your child may wear St. Pius Spirit clothes (St. Pius shirt with gym pants or any athletic pants) on Tuesday.  If you have not participated, your child should wear his/her uniform.  If you would like more information, so you can participate next month and earn money off of your tuition in addition to the casual day, please call the school office or go to http://www.saintpiusschool.org/parents-alumni/get-involved/ and click the Scrip letter on that page. If your family earned this casual day, the child received a wristband on Monday to wear on Tuesday so the teacher is aware.
2.     We have learned the sounds m, a, t, p, h, c, n, i.  I will be testing to make sure the students are retaining the sounds next week.  We have also learned to read the color words: red, blue, yellow, orange, green. All students should be able to read these words independently.
3.      The children are learning the proper way to write numbers! They will learn a rhyme for each one we learn. Please take the time to practice writing numbers at home with your child.
4.     Friday at 11:15 is our FAREWELL TO SUMMER picnic.  All students may wear either casual summer clothes (shorts, t-shirt, tennis shoes) or their gym uniform.  All students need to bring a small beach towel to sit on for the picnic.  A free hot dog/chips/dessert lunch will be served.  If your child does not wish to eat this lunch, please pack a lunch for them.  Milk will be available if your child ordered, or students can take their water bottles outside for lunch.  Any parents who have completed the background check and the PGC are welcome to come and help with this extra long, fun lunch period!  PLEASE NOTE THAT IT BEGINS AT 11:15, AN EARLY LUNCH FOR US!
