Math Lesson ~ Using a pan balance

 We used a pan balance in math to measure how heavy and light objects are.  We even used our stuffed animals that we brought in today!

COUNTDOWN TO GRADUATION - Bring a stuffed animal to school!

 The students all brought a stuffed animal to school today!

Of course, Mrs. Shook had to make it educational!  They all had to tell the beginning sound of their stuffy!

Science lab - April 29

 

We continued our lesson on PLANTS!

First we looked at the roots, then took the leaves off it and looked at the long stem that takes nutrients up and down from the roots to the flower.  We then took the flower apart to look at the seeds inside.

Did you know that a marigold is made up of many small flowers?

We will complete our diagram of the plant next week!

Star testing!

The students were working hard on the Early Literacy Star Test. 

The Kindergarten class takes the Star Reading test to give us a starting point for 1st grade.

Science lab ~ April 22

 Today we took the trees that we have made to represent each season and put them together on a cardboard circle.  

We talked about the fact that they will see the same seasons as they go through each grade in school!
