May News

It is hard to believe that the end of the year is coming so quickly! May has been busy already. On May 1st, we celebrated Cookie Day. Thanks again Mrs. Kormos and Mrs. Cousino for making cookies for us all! Last week we celebrated Nicky and Abby's birthdays as well as Cinco De Mayo. We also had teacher appreciation week . . . thank you all for your many thoughtful gifts. It is our pleasure to work with your children!! We've been saying the Rosary with the entire school in church on Fridays, and today we celebrate May Crowning. Be sure to check the list to the right for dates of upcoming events. We hope all our moms had a wonderful Mother's Day and enjoyed reading the books your children made for you!

APRIL NEWS

HAPPY EASTER!!! We hope you had a blessed Easter and enjoyed your break from school! It is good to be back. The children really seem to have matured over break. Our first day back was wonderful! My how we missed your little ones. This week we are focusing on our great planet Earth. We'll be reading many Earth Day stories, and doing activities related to saving our Earth. We'll even be making a class book on recycled paper. Wednesday will be a no lights, no paper day at school! What a great way to look at our own practices and try to make a change for the better. What small change can you make at home to benefit our earth?

Grandparents' Day!

We recently celebrated Grandparents' Day with the whole school. It was a wonderful day beginning with mass. After that, the children came to the classrooms to do some fun activities with their grandparents or special persons. We are all so thankful for the special adults in our lives!

Celebrating Presidents' Day!

This past weekend was our winter break, and we all enjoyed the long weekend. Some of our families were lucky enough to get away for the weekend and spend a few days in the sun or up north! When we returned on Wednesday, February 18, we spent the morning talking about some of our famous presidents. We learned what a president does and wrote about what we'd do if we were president. Some of our ideas included: boss the universe, be the line leader, ride in an airplane, help people, and buy a tv. We also made portraits of Abraham Lincoln using our handprints for his beard and created our own red, white, and blue flags.

100 Wonderful Days!

It's hard to believe that we have been in school for 100 days! We celebrated this special day with many fun activities. We counted out 100 pieces for our snack and enjoyed eating it on the carpet as we listened to one of my favorite stories, Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of Kindergarten. We drew pictures and wrote about what we'd look like when we are 100 years old. Our math activity involved sorting and counting the 100 items we each brought in a bag. We also had fun in the gym doing 100 exercises!

We really enjoyed this special day!
