Questions you can ask your child:
On the Way to Mass – What would you like God to heal in your life?  Why do you think it would be possible?
On the Way Home From Mass –Which of your five senses are you most thankful for? Why?
Comments:
1.      Our Halloween Party is Tuesday.   Your child should wear his/her costume to school, bring a bag to collect treats, and whatever you signed up to bring.  If you are blowing up balloons, they were in your child’s backpack with the prizes yesterday– the prize goes inside the balloon, then you blow it up.  Please bring them to school in a large garbage bag on Wednesday!  Thanks so much to everyone for your help to make our party a success!
2.     The weather has cooled down, but we will continue to go outside for recess until the snow falls!  Please make sure your child has a coat, hat and gloves to help him/her stay warm for the 15 minutes they are outside each day. Girls are welcome to wear leggings or pajama pants under their skirts for recess, we will take them off during school hours.
3.    Please remember that the school bell rings at 7:55, and the tardy bell rings at 8:00.  It is VERY IMPORTANT that your child is on time for school.  If your child is late, they need reminders of what I have already told the class as a whole, and it is distracting to the entire class.  We go to Math and Religion class at 8:15 every day.  If your child is later than 8:15, they have missed calendar, prayer, and the beginning of Math and Religion class. Thank you for being considerate of the whole class!

Science Lab

As part of our Animal Unit, Mrs. Tucker brought in a variety of stuffed animals and the students had to find an animal based on its characteristics.  We also discussed whether the stuffed animal was the same size or bigger or smaller than the real animal.

Computer Lab Art

The students used the website ABCYA's, Carve a Pumpkin, section to make their own Jack-o-lanterns!

Pink Out Day

We had a PINK OUT day to raise money for The Josephine Ford Cancer Center and Women Celebrating Life ~ two places that support women going through breast cancer!

Pumpkin Comparison

We investigated 3 different size pumpkins.
We described the outside and the inside,
then estimated how many lines would be on the outside,
and how many seeds would be on the inside.
The students enjoyed counting by 10's after taking the seeds out to find out how many there were!

Happy Birthday to Harlow!!

The Leaves Are Falling Down song

We sang this song about all of our friends today!

Earthworm Science Lab

We compared 2 different kinds of worms, we talked about the color, shape, and size.
We then compared both of them to a gummy worm.
We measured the gummy worm (we decided it would be easier to measure than the wiggly real worms!) using unit blocks, it was 10 unit blocks long.
