Daily Classroom News		Looking Ahead to Next Week
We learned the color word ‘black’ today!	Mon.	Don’t forget a snack, a water bottle AND a clean desk towel! We have Spanish and Computer class today! BAGEL DAY IF YOU ORDERED
We learned the /d/ sound today! No one in our class has a d in their name! We made the life cycle of a beetle on paper!	Tues.	We go to Computer CLASS TODAY!
We finished our unit about American Symbols today in Social Studies!	Wed.	We go to ART class today!
We learned the short sound of /e/ today, as in elephant! We explored real earthworms in the science lab today! We measured gummy worms.	Thurs.	NO SCHOOL All teachers will be in Grand Rapids at the MANS Conference
We enjoyed playing in Gym class today! I love seeing the students in their Kindergarten t-shirts!	Fri.	Enjoy the long weekend!
Questions for your child: ALL HOMEWORK IS DUE NEXT WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17, YOU MAY TURN IT IN WHENEVER YOUR CHILD IS DONE WITH IT! 1.      Reading - Think of 3 words that begin with the sound /c/ on the HOMEWORK worksheet. Parents, please let your child do the thinking and drawing!  2.       Reading –October Letter recognition practice – Practice a couple of times each week.  I will use this to test the students on Letter Recognition beginning Oct. 22.    3.       Math – Count Domino dots, write numbers worksheet
Sunday’s Gospel Reading – October 14, 2018 Hearing the Word – Mark 10:17-22 Questions you can ask your child: On the Way to Mass – What have you put before your love for Jesus?  What is holding you back from following him fully? On the Way Home From Mass – Where could you make more room for God in your life?  How would                       that feel?
Comments: 1.     We will be exploring PUMPKINS the week of October 15th.  Thank you to those that donated the pumpkins!  We can’t wait to weigh, measure and touch these different size pumpkins!    2.     The sign up genius for our Halloween Party was emailed this week. ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A BAG, PLASTIC PUMPKIN, BUCKET, ETC to collect their goodies from our game time!  Thank you so much to everyone who signed up to bring something or to help with our party, we appreciate your help! 3.   We have learned the letter sounds: m, a, t, h, p, n, i, c, j, s, o, b, f, u, d, e – I will be testing the students on these letter sounds in the next two weeks, please make sure to review them at home!  I will also be testing students on the color words: red, blue, yellow, orange, green, purple, brown and black.  We have talked about looking at the beginning and ending sounds to help us remember them.
