2.       Handwriting – P. 53-54 s

Questions you can ask your child:
On the Way to Mass – Can you imagine being without an eye, hand or foot?  What importance do those hold for you?
On the Way Home From Mass – Have you ever been surprised by someone’s kindness?  Why did it surprise you?
Comments:
1.      The Jog-a-thon is next Friday!  We still need parents to help with keeping track of laps on the field, if you can help, please send a note in your child’s folder.  In case of rain, the students will run for a shorter time in the gym.  All students will receive a FREE hot dog lunch for participating in the Jog-a-thon. Your child should return the pledge sheet on the day of the Jog-a-thon and we will return it that afternoon with the lap card attached!  Students can earn casual days and fun prized based on the money they turn in by October 12.  All money raised helps our school technology program.  Thanks for your support with this important fundraiser!
2.      We will move our desks and rest spots to a new place on the first of every month, so your child gets a new “view” and a new friend to sit by!
3.     We have been talking a lot about keeping our hands to ourselves this week.  At recess, many children are pushing, hitting, or punching on the field instead of using their words.  We have discussed in class games that are appropriate, and those that are not.  We also discussed talking to the child if we don’t like how they are playing, instead of pushing or hitting.  Please help by discussing this at home with your child, too!
Our first two classroom rules are:
1.   We listen to each other
2.   Hands are for helping, not hurting
