We celebrated his half birthday today!

Science lab - Jan. 22

In Science lab, we went on a winter walk.

We observed at what the ground looked like, what the sky looked like and what the trees looked like.

We noticed that the ground right next to the building looked different than the ground in the middle of the field. 

One tree had MANY brown leaves, most had no leaves.

We had extra time to 'visit' with the bearded dragon!

1/18/24 Mass

 The students were listening intently to Fr. Brendan's homily at Mass!  Their 7th grade buddies were listening, too!

New Years Resolutions

 We talked about the new year and resolutions.  

The students each thought of something that they can do to be a better person in 2024!

They then created a person to look like them and added their resolution to the hat!

I love seeing their writing deveolop!

Science Lab - Movement

 We began our unit on motion and movement.

First we used a straw wrapped in paper to move a cotton ball.

 Next, we used a straw to move the cotton ball without touching the straw to the cotton ball. 

It took a while for some students to figure this out!

We learned that things only move with a force.

A force is a push or a pull.

Lastly, we used a ramp to release a car down.

We compared a ramp one book high and a ramp two books high.

We learned that gravity pulls the car down the ramp. 

Mrs. Shook was busy helping and didn't get any pictures of the students using the ramps.

Practicing for Mass

 We went to the church with our 7th grade buddies to practice for Mass.

We begin attending Mass on Thursday!
