100th Day of School

We had so much fun on our 100th Day of School! We colored 100 pictures, stamped 100 stamps, did 100 exercises, connected 100 dots, wrote what we would buy if we had 100 dollars, built a structure with 100 plastic cups, and played with and popped 100 balloons!! Happy Catholic Schools Week! St. Pius has many exciting activities planned to celebrate our special Catholic School!!! Sunday - Open House for New Families Monday - Pajama day, Bagel sale, Service project - donate a used book to our collection for an area hospital!!! Tuesday - Crazy hat/hair day - We will let our parents know why we love St. Pius School today Wednesday - Mix and Match day - Movie day! Thursday - Dress up day - Mass day - We will make card's for Fr. Bob! Winter Carnival Service project - donate non-perishable foods for the local food pantry - Friday - Spirit wear day! - Pep rally

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome back to school! The students and I are so excited to be back to school! We are getting back into the swing of things and are busy reading our next book in the FAST series, Where is Sam? The students are doing a wonderful job reading and sounding out and spelling words! I am very impressed. Please take a moment to walk down the hallway and look at the "New Year's Resolution's" they wrote on their own! We will be going to Mass for the first time as a class on Thursday! We will sit with our 7th grade buddies. Please reinforce proper church behavior with your child when at Sunday mass. The next book order will be coming home on Friday and is due on Friday, January 18th. Please see the sidebar for the link! Next Tuesday afternoon we will be attending an assembly in the gym about Thomas Edison.

Some reminders for this week! 1. Bagel Sale - A bagel sale order form came home yesterday. Your child may order a bagel/juice and it will be served to him/her on Friday, September 28, at our snack time! If your do not place your order by Monday, Sept. 17, your child will not receive a bagel. 2. Gym Uniform - Gym class is tomorrow, please have your child wear his/her gym uniform with gym shoes to school tomorrow! 3. Book Order - The deadline to order books from the Scholastic Book Club is tomorrow. If you would still like to order you can go to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. Our class activation code is GPDYL. Remember our class earns a free book for each online order, and you get a $5.00 FREE book coupon! 4. Open House - Open house is tonight from 6:00-7:30, I look forward to seeing everyone there. Please take the letter on your child's desk, it gives more information about some of the things we do in Kindergarten. I will have a sign in sheet so I know who was able to come, and a Wish List of some things we could use in our classroom on the red table! We have had a GREAT first week of school!  The first week is about learning the routine and the rules of the classroom, so we have played several games to help us learn these things!

Today we used the website www.abcya.com on the smartboard and played abc bingo!  What fun this was!
