September, 2014
We have been in school for 4 weeks now, and the new Kindergarten students are settling in nicely!
We are learning letter sounds, practicing writing the beginning sound of what we are drawing in our Writer's Notebooks and have completed a unit on Our 5 Senses in Science.
In Mrs. Gadwell's classroom, we have been graphing, making patterns and learning about the many gifts of nature that God has given us!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM MRS. SHOOK'S CLASS!!!
We had so much fun at our halloween party! This year we went trick or treating to the other lower elementary classrooms and played a game at each room!
Thank you so much to all the parents who were able to come and help, and to those who sent in treats, and especially to Mrs. Johnson, who blew up 120 balloons for the game in our classroom!
What a GREAT day it was!!!

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL
What a wonderful beginning to the school year it has been!!!
I always enjoy the beginning of the school year, meeting new students, getting new supplies, starting a new schedule!
The students have been learning the beginning letters sounds that are needed for reading, and read several short a words this week. We are playing many letter games to reinforce the upper and lower case letters and sounds!
In science, we are learning about animals and how they grow and change.
Mrs. Gadwell teaches math, and the students have been making patterns and reviewing the numbers 1-10.
Mrs. Gadwell also teaches social studies. Last week the students learned about "Constitution Day" and did many activities having to do with the United States of America!
