Taking the science lab outdoors!
For our last science lab of the year, we took things outdoors! Mrs. Tucker turned over several spots of soil, and the students explored it. They found many worms, one or two in every shovelful of soil overturned. They also found roots, a clothespin, glass, and lots of other things! The favorite item found was several large slugs ~ Mrs. Tucker adopted these into the science lab,
we will check them out next week!
This is an activity that could easily be done at home
and the students could have stayed out there much
longer than our schedule allowed!

STEM Bridge Building
We built a structure today out of index cards and tape.
The structure had to be 15 cm tall.
We tried to make the structure strong enough to hold a stuffed chipmunk.
The students worked very hard at this,
though no one was able to build something to hold the chipmunk.
We will continue this in our Center room next week!

Spring Walk
We took a spring walk and noticed flowers growing out of the grass, and some flowers on trees.
The grass was very green, and the little leaves on the trees were light green.
We even found a tree that had flowers and leaves on it!
Flowers and leaves were both on this tree.
We put all of our trees together on a Weather Wheel!
